Meet our Doctors
Market Street Medical Practice has been established in Brisbane CBD since 2003, and comprises a group of nine experienced GPs. All our doctors are fully accredited and vocationally registered, and each have between 15 years and 25 years’ experience in general practice. We aim to provide a holistic approach to medical care.
Dr Peta Leonard
MBBS (QLD) FRACGP
Dr Peta Leonard has been a dedicated general practitioner in Brisbane for more than 20 years following hospital-based training in pediatrics and psychiatry. She is experienced in all aspects of general practice, especially preventive health care for cardiovascular disease and chronic illness. Peta particularly enjoys meeting and providing continuous care for multiple members of a family. She is also an accredited dive medical examiner.
Dr Nici Leonard
MBBS (QLD) DipObs FRACGP
Dr Nici Leonard has more than 20 years’ experience in general practice, in addition to five years in hospital positions, particularly in obstetrics, gynaecology and psychiatry. This includes two years attached to the Rural Doctors training program in Toowoomba. She holds a Diploma of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and has trained with the Family Planning Association (FPA Health). Nici returned to general practice in Brisbane in 2004 after seven years based in Sydney. Her special interests are men and women’s health, antenatal care and psychiatry. She is also an accredited dive medical examiner.
Dr Jeremy Nolan
MBBS (QLD) FRACGP Grad Dip Rural GP
Dr Jeremy Nolan graduated from The University of Queensland in 1992. He attained a diploma of obstetrics in 1997, a graduate diploma of Rural General Practice in 1998 (advanced skill in anaesthesia) and his FRACGP in 2000. Jeremy has worked in general practice and rural hospitals for over 20 years. He moved to Brisbane in late 2018 after a very enjoyable 10 years in Goondiwindi providing GP and anaesthetic services to his patients. He covers all aspects of general practice and having worked in the country for many years, has extensive experience in skin cancer medicine. In his spare time, Jeremy enjoys running and attempts the odd triathlon. He and his wife are also kept busy with four (at times) wonderful children.
Dr Christine Shih
MBBS (Melb) FRACGP
Dr Christine Shih graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2001. Christine has a special interest in women’s health. She has gained extensive experience working in tertiary hospitals in Melbourne, such as the Mercy Hospital for Women and the Royal Women’s Hospital. She worked at Family Planning Victoria and completed further postgraduate training in reproductive and sexual health. Christine is fluent in Mandarin.
Dr Inga Atrens
MBBS (QLD) FRACGP
Dr Inga Atrens graduated from the University of Queensland in 1999, and completed her General Practice specialisation in Gympie, Townsville and Brisbane. Dr Atrens also has more than a decade of experience in Travel Medicine, and has attained the International Society of Travel Medicine (ISTM) Certificate in Travel Health.
She enjoys all areas of General Practice, with particular interest in preventative health and paediatrics. She is aligned with the Mater Mother’s Hospital for antenatal shared care.
Dr Atrens is known for her warm and gentle approach.
Dr Jessica Bunker
BPharm MBBS (QLD) FRACGP
Dr Jessica Bunker graduated from the University of Queensland in 2012. Jessica has a background as a pharmacist and clinical trials doctor. Jessica enjoys all aspects of general practice, with interests in skin cancer, medicine, women’s health and mental health. She is accredited to insert and Implanon’s, and performs skin checks using dermoscopy
Dr Libby Gray
MBBS (NSW) FRACGP Graduate Diploma Applied Science
Dr Libby Gray graduated from the University of NSW in 1990. After 3 years in the hospital system she embarked on GP training in both Australia and the U.K. . She attained her FRACGP in 1997 and later completed a Graduate Diploma in Integrative Medicine.
Her interests include women’s and paediatric health, alternative therapies including acupuncture, preventative health and nutrition.
Dr Maree Patane
MBBS (QLD) FRACGP
Dr Maree Patane is a General Practitioner with over 20 years experience. She has worked in student health, and family planning as well as general practice. Her particular areas of interest are in women’s health and mental health. She is also committed to advising and implementing preventative health strategies for each individual.
Dr Natalie Banney
MBBS (QLD) FRACGP
Dr Natalie Banney studied Medicine at the University of Queensland, graduating in 1992. She gained experience in various hospital rotations before commencing General Practice in 1996. She was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practice in 1997. Dr Banney enjoys all aspects of General Practice with interests in women’s health and preventative health care.
Dr Kathryn Mainstone
MBBS (QLD) DRCOG ( Lond.) FRACGP
Dr Kathryn Mainstone has spent seven years in hospital positions in Queensland, including registrar positions in paediatrics, general medicine and psychiatry. She completed her obstetrics and gynaecology training for general practice at Addenbrookes and the Rosie Maternity Hospital in Cambridge, UK, then worked as a GP in central Cambridge. She undertook Australian GP training in Toowoomba then worked as a solo medical superintendent at Mt Morgan Hospital for two years. The next decade was spent as a rural GP in Goondiwindi before she returned to Brisbane and joined Market St Medical Practice. She enjoys all aspects of general practice but has a special interest in women’s health, paediatrics and psychiatry.
